The funding is aimed at researchers with a PhD degree who are employed at Lund University, as well as research colleagues at select partner universities in countries that have recently been associated or soon will associated to the Horizon Europe programme.
The funds, up to a maximum of SEK 60 000 per award (SEK 25 000 within Europe), are intended to develop collaborations that have the potential to lead to externally funded research projects and joint publications.
The activities can start after the award has been granted and must take place by 31 July 2025.
The call is open for applications in all academic fields and for collaborations with the following countries and universities
- Canada – McGill University, McMaster University, Université de Montréal, University of British Columbia and University of Toronto
- New Zealand – University of Auckland, University of Canterbury and University of Otago
- Switzerland – ETH Zürich, Université de Genève and University of Zürich
- United Kingdom – Imperial College London, University of Cambridge, University College London, University of Edinburgh, University of Glasgow och University of Oxford
- South Korea – Korea University, POSTECH and Seoul National University
- Ukraine – Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv
Activities eligible for funding
- Workshop/meeting costs, such as facilities, food, technical support
- Travel, subsistence and accommodation costs in conjunction with visits for participants from LU and partner university
Salary costs, consumables and scholarships for students are not eligible.

Applications are made through a special application form and should include the purpose of the collaboration, description of activities and confirmation of interest from the researcher at the partner university.
